Bhavik R. Patel joined Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard in 2004 and is the firm’s Business Law Practice Group Leader. Additionally, he is the Chair of the firm’s Wealth Planning Group and Special Needs Planning Group. Bhavik is also the managing member of the firm’s Clayton, Missouri office. Bhavik counsels individuals and families of all levels of wealth and at nearly every stage of life and has experience drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts, qualified spousal trusts, life insurance trusts, gift trusts, family trusts, dynasty trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, discretionary trusts, blind trusts, GST trusts, asset protection trusts, voting trusts, and much more. In addition to estate planning, Bhavik has extensive experience with complex and unique estate and trust administrations, as well as, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Mara joined Sandberg Phoenix in September 2010 as an associate after working for the firm as a summer associate in 2009. As a member of the Business Practice Group, Mara focuses her practice on wealth planning and banking. Her wealth planning experience includes standard and traditional estate planning matters as well as trust administration, probate, advanced tax planning and customized trusts for special needs children and same sex couples.
Sandberg Phoenix Counsel Carl Lothman joined the firm in 2013. As a member of the Business Practice Group, Carl’s practice spans more than 30 years, and focuses on helping business clients in the healthcare, construction, manufacturing and service industries, as well as assisting individuals in developing and implementing estate planning goals and strategies. Carl works closely with clients to develop effective, cost sensitive, strategies in areas such as advanced estate planning ideas, post death trust administration and probate procedures, real estate solutions, business taxes, business and non-profit governance and compliance, employee benefits, and succession planning.
With more than 35 years of legal experience, David Jones joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2013. A significant portion of David’s practice is dedicated to estate planning and wealth transfer for individuals and business owners. Through individualized plans, David assists clients in addressing tax issues, practical life issues, death issues, conflict among family member issues and business succession issues.
